Kaolin Pellets - 5TBP
Pica Behavior
Nausea
and related illnesses are often an unwelcome side effect of some research
studies and drug treatments. This nausea and related disruption of appetite
and ingestion adversely affect such studies and distort resulting data. It can
be caused by a wide variety of factors, including cancer, viral and bacterial
infections, and consumption of toxins.
Pica behavior (the craving for and ingesting of unnatural or non-nutrient substances) in mice and rats may indicate nausea, analogous to emesis in other species. This behavior may often be the only apparent indicator of such symptoms, or of syndromes of malabsorption or maldigestion.
Offering non-nutritive kaolin pellets to your laboratory animals provides an effective means of early detection of such illness in laboratory animals. They are both economical and easy to administer.
